TIPAUME – Red Blend

Description

Tipaume Red Blend encapsulates the rich legacy of our family vineyard, established in 1996 over 8 hectares. Embracing dry farming principles with ungrafted, high-density plantings, our journey towards sustainability commenced with organic cultivation, evolving seamlessly into biodynamic practices. Achieving full DEMETER certification in 2012 for both vineyard and winery practices, we proudly produce pesticide-free wines in a completely natural manner.

TIPAUME Red Wine, nurtured in integral oak barrels (20% new), is a captivating blend of six varieties meticulously coplanted and cofermented: 60% Carménère, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Lacrima Cristi, 2% Viognier, and 1% Malbec. The skin maceration lasts three months, and fermentation concludes around Christmas, characterized by unusually low temperatures.

Our commitment to purity extends to the winemaking process – all our wines undergo natural clarification, devoid of fining or filtration, potentially resulting in a natural sediment, enhancing the wine’s authenticity. To fully appreciate the Tipaume Red Blend, we recommend decanting whenever possible and serving at a temperature between 57-61 ºF. Experience the essence of Tipaume, where tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship converge in every bottle.

Crafted in an artisanal manner, our wines honor age-old traditions, echoing winemaking practices in Europe, particularly in the country of Georgia. With minimal intervention and an extended process of fermentation and maceration with skins, our wines mature slowly in our underground cellar.

In the vineyard, Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Lacrima Cristi, and Viognier thrive. Our wines are a harmonious blend of these varietals, with Carménère predominating (around 60%, depending on the year).

In the case of Tipaume, the wines are meticulously crafted in French oak barrels, adding an extra layer of refinement to the winemaking process.
